1994 - 1996 Impala
The muscle car that started it all—the Impala SS—was briefly revived in the mid-1990s, to critical acclaim. Basically a performance-tuned and aggressively-styled Caprice, with the Corvette-derived LT1 power plant (350-ci, 260-hp V8), the new SS was a compelling reminder of the Impala legacy.

Changes over the three-year run were subtle but meaningful, and the 1996 edition is considered the best-handling and most desirable.
